The Utility Billing Department provides quality customer service to our utility customers. Along with sending out monthly billing, they assist with payments,  electric & water usage questions,  garbage & recycling services, budget billing, and provide information for Energy Assistance.

• Enroll in Paperless Billing

Other Payment Options:

• Pay by Phone 24/7:  763-298-9270 ($0.95 service charge)
• Mail a check to City Center
• Utilize drop box in the alley behind City Center

  • Please note: 

    • Effective July 1, 2025, the City of Buffalo Municipal Utilities will no longer accept payments at the drop box located within Cub Foods to protect our team and improve efficiency. Please submit payments via our website, automated payment line, in person or via our drop box at Buffalo City Center, which will remain available 24/7. Please call the City of Buffalo Utility Billing department at 763-682-1001 with questions or to set up a new payment method.

To start or stop services with the City of Buffalo you may either fill out this online start, stop or transfer services form or contact Utility Billing at 763-682-1001. Calling ahead of your move is appreciated as we are then able to plan for meter read outs.
