Downtown Commons

Splash Around in the Interactive Fountains

Downtown Commons was established in July of 2013 and is located at 101 1st Ave S. The highlight of the Downtown Commons is the Interactive Fountain area where kids can enjoy a break from the heat while splashing in the cool water of the fountains. Parents can join their kids in playing in the water, but most choose to relax in the shade on a picnic table or park bench while the kids play.

In recent years City staff has added many gardens and trees that truly makes this a beautiful destination to relax and enjoy views of Buffalo Lake. The Buffalo Rotary Club donated musical instruments to the Downtown Commons that are part of the Musical Instrument Trail Map (PDF)  which runs from Sturges Park down the beautiful Lake Walk and ending with the final two instruments at Downtown Commons.

The Buffalo Utility Department has also placed a Wireless Charging Station at Buffalo Commons so residents and visitors can relax and charge their cell phone while enjoying a coffee or ice cream treat.
