1st Avenue NE Reconstruction Project
Project Overview
With the completion of the 2040 Downtown Plan, Buffalo is moving forward with the first phase of revitalizing the northeast downtown area streets. This project focuses on improving sections of 1st Ave NE, 3rd St NE, 2nd St NE and 1st St NE including:
- Making downtown greener and more connected
- Creating inviting streetscapes that encourage pedestrians to support downtown businesses
- Adjusting parking areas to better fit the needs of downtown
- Creating flexible, multi-use public spaces to allow for a wide range of activities and events
