Overview

The City Council is an elected body that has administrative and legislative authority over City business. The Mayor is elected every two years and is the presiding officer at Council meetings and has other duties. Council members are elected every four years, two persons each every two years.

The Council makes numerous and difficult decisions about managing growth, providing services, and transportation improvements to name a few. Meetings are held the First and Third Monday evenings each month. Council Members also serve as liaisons on various boards and commissions such as the Planning Commission, Parks Advisory Board and so on. An average agenda can contain many topics from public improvements to Truth in Taxation hearings to granting approvals for subdivisions.

The Council encourages you to contact them with your concerns or to hear your ideas.
