Canadian Pacific Railroad (CP) officials will open 5th Street on Friday, June 17, 2022, for the City of Buffalo Streets Department to sweep the staging area and Parade route for Saturday’s Buffalo Days Parade. The crossing will remain open until Sunday evening, June 19, 2022, when CP Rail will again close 5th Street to continue working on tracks at the crossing. At this time, we do not know how long the tracks will be closed at the 5th Street crossing, but if the closing will be for an extended period, then the City of Buffalo has asked that CP install temporary signage on Highways 25, 35, & 55 stating that 5th Street is closed at the railroad tracks and for traffic to use alternative routes.
