Buffalo Police Department Budget
The Buffalo Police Department Budget has been on a fairly steady rise that has been commensurate with the pattern of steady growth that has been realized by the community. Each year, Department Heads are asked to craft a proposed budget to be submitted to the City Administrator and City Council for consideration, and hopefully, approval.
The process for the 2007 budget was similar to other years, with City Departments submitting budgets that they felt were in line with the needs of their respective departments. The proposed Police Department Budget for 2007 includes the addition of one Full-Time Police Officer. Our total sworn staff is eighteen, with 3.5 FTE's handling administrative and clerical responsibilities, and an additional 1.5 FTE's working as Community Service Officers.
