SEC. 2.15. EMPLOYEE CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS

Subd. 1. PURPOSE

The Buffalo City Council has determined that applicants for employment for city jobs and positions serve in a potential position of trust for the benefit of the public, should they be hired.  It is a primary purpose of the city to serve, and protect its citizens without harm and unwarranted risks associated with city services.  In order to best serve the citizens of the City of Buffalo and the public health, safety and welfare of its citizens by providing a system shall be provided at the local level for criminal history/background investigation of prospective employees.  As a result, the city authorizes criminal background investigations of finalists for employment with the City of Buffalo.
